DO NOT READ THIS-Your Computer Will Explode
September 19, 2007 Filed Under: BlogRush
Look what you’ve done now.Curiosity got the best of you and now your thousand dollar collection of circuits and chips is going to blow up!
Let me guess, you were cruising a blog with BlogRush on it, saw this post and thought “That’s impossible!”
We’ll see….
Now that you are here, let’s talk about BlogRush. Guaranteed to “instantly send a flood of targeted readers to your blog.” If only it was easy as installing this simple application on your blog, writing a few posts and watching the traffic explode!
In order to get the MOST out of BlogRush, you needed to get in early. I won’t bore you with the details about referral system. By now, it’s too late to take advantage of that part of the program. I will point out what a fantastic display of viral marketing this referral system proved to be.
Think about it, what was the first post you made after installing the product?! It was about BlogRush, encouraging your readers to sign-up in order to bump you up the pyramid at the same time contributing to the frenzy…. I LOVE IT!
Anyway, here we are all competing for clicks from BlogRush applications on blogs across the globe.
From this point on, you post’s titles will be the most important 42 characters of your blogging career. That’s right, you have only 42 characters to convince someone reading another blog to check out your post.
21 characters per line…. 2 lines…. that’s it.
Look at the title of this post… it sucks! I don’t think anyone will actually click on it from BlogRush. In fact, I hope they don’t. I’m not here to sell anything, I’m not here to be popular. I have ideas that I would like to share with people would would like to hear them so traffic isn’t a big deal for me. YOU are a big deal for me, my faithful readers….
So here goes…. How to get traffic to your blogs from BlogRush:
You MUST be creative with your titles. You can say anything in your title, it’s all about the lead in. For example:
- BlogRush Virus spreads quickly….
- Talk about the viral effect of BlogRush and how to use these techniques to sell to your niche.
- Internet marketing prostitution legal?!?!
- Talk about how Internet Marketers pimp their subscribers list, selling affiliate product after affiliate product to their unsuspecting readers who thought they were there to get quality IM advice.
Think, news headlines. You have to grab the readers attention quickly. However, that is where the fun begins. Just because I come to your blog to read a post, doesn’t mean I’ll come back.
- Make it easy for them to sign up to your feed.
- Reference other posts in your post so they are enticed to stick around and read more. Remember, the BlogRush link brings them to that posts page, not your main page.
- Make sure you “recent post” link section is easily visible.
When it comes to blogging, unique visitors are nice but repeat visitors are GREAT!
So now as promised I must destroy your computer. Please back away from the computer, you have 5 seconds….
5…..4…..
3…..
2…..
1……
Crap, I guess it didn’t work. Well maybe your traffic rates will explode if you take my advice. We’ll see….
Think Critically~

If you’re looking to see any traffic from BlogRush you also have to keep your content fresh. You post regularly, so you’re alright. For me, it works as an incentive to actually post more.
But like you, I’m also not using my blog as a profit center. Actually, it was intended to be more of a platform to rant and talk trash about various marketing campaigns… it just hasn’t worked out like that yet. lol.
So… I’m curious; did this hyperbolic, and off the wall, headline draw any BlogRush traffic today?
Sean,
Actually I’m still getting traffic from my previous post.
I guess BlogRush operates about a day behind so I’ll be checking for traffic today.
I’m glad BlogRush is making you post more, I like your posts…. there’s just not enough of them.
