The Fair is in Town!

I love the fair. Every year, I wait like a kid before Christmas for this week to come!I’m a sucker for carnival food, funnel cake, turkey legs, 10 gallon cups of lemonade, dippin’ dots, fried snickers, fried twinkies, fresh corn on the cob….. yes I said corn on the cob, twinkies and funnel cakes don’t provide my daily recommended servings of vegetables.

Needless to say I don’t eat for at least a full 24 hours before the fair comes so I’m as excited as a school kid and a little weak on Sept 20 but that all changes on the 21st!

Aside from the fair food, it’s the games that keep me awake at night in anticipation.

I’m a competitive person, that is a bit of an understatement…. I’m a super competitive person. I hate losing and I always want to do my best.

So every year, the carnival game owners taunt and tempt me with their huge prizes, complicated games and smooth talking style.

It’s like they are challenging my man-hood, I won’t stand for that. What they don’t know is that I put games like theirs out of business. I’ve been banned from 3 fairs across the country for dominating the carnival games. You know the “one win per day” rule…. they wrote that because of me.

I specialize in the most difficult games where they tease you by “showing you how easy it is” by doing it first then piling up your money up as you try to repeat what they did. The debunk the idea of all games being a scam (some are) then rely on your ineptitude and competitive nature to fork over 20 dollar bill after 20 dollar bill trying to defend your manhood.

I love the challenge, and I love the competition so I study them as they show me exactly how to win then I simply repeat exactly what they did… granted it may take me more than one try but once I get it…. it’s game over for them!

Last year, I won a mini-chopper, a 6 foot stuffed horse, an XBox 360 and that was just one day! Unfortunately the mid-south fair has allowed the game owners to make their own rules and now they only allow you to win once for the entire duration of the fair.

Oh well, no more bankrupting the evil game owners who prey on the innocent fair patrons. Now I simply win presents for friends and family but I still get a thrill from the competition.

During the Thirty Day Challenge, competition was a huge issue. They laid out strict requirements that your niche must have less than 25K competing pages.

Did you ever wonder why that number? Why not 30? or even 40? What is so special about 25K?

Nothing, in fact it’s WRONG!

By giving us an exact number it made it easier for them to explain the system. I applaud them for that. 25K wasn’t arbitrary it was tested and confirmed. Therefore it was a good benchmark for them to use, I don’t fault them for using it.

However, as always I encourage you to think critically. What did the 25K represent?

With less than 25K pages, we can assume that our competition wasn’t very strong.

It was really about quality and NOT quantity. They quantified the strength of our competition by assigning a number (25K) to the relative strength of the competition in that market.

What if we were to stick to a pure quality measurement. With all of the SEO tools, we can easily see the quality of our competition.

Take this niche for example: Gun Broker

54K competitors, a definite NO-GO for the Thirty-Day Challenge!
But lets take a closer look at the QUALITY of the competition.

While the quantity is too high, it is very apparent that the quality is low. I consider the Thirty Day Challenge Techniques my PR3 killer. You can successfully compete with PR3 and below sites but that is about it.

Oh, did you notice who was #4? That’s right, a fellow Thirty Day Challenge competitor has cracked the top 10 of a niche market that has a competition level of 2x the recommended amount.

DISCLAIMER: I’m not betraying a fellow internet marketer by giving away his niche. While he has made it to #4, he has not found a way to monetize so he has thrown in the towel. I am taking it over as a project to test strategies and give you reports. I trust you, my readers, not to be deceitful and steal ideas each other, especially not mine since I am going out of my way to give you tips and advice to make YOU successful. Also, notice how lame my post title is…. I don’t want traffic from blogrush, I want to give these tips to those who deserve them……you!

So there it is, I love competition and I’m not afraid of it. I simply evaluate the quality of my competition before making a decision.

See you at the fair!

DO NOT READ THIS-Your Computer Will Explode

Look what you’ve done now.Curiosity got the best of you and now your thousand dollar collection of circuits and chips is going to blow up!

Let me guess, you were cruising a blog with BlogRush on it, saw this post and thought “That’s impossible!”

We’ll see….

Now that you are here, let’s talk about BlogRush. Guaranteed to “instantly send a flood of targeted readers to your blog.” If only it was easy as installing this simple application on your blog, writing a few posts and watching the traffic explode!

In order to get the MOST out of BlogRush, you needed to get in early. I won’t bore you with the details about referral system. By now, it’s too late to take advantage of that part of the program. I will point out what a fantastic display of viral marketing this referral system proved to be.

Think about it, what was the first post you made after installing the product?! It was about BlogRush, encouraging your readers to sign-up in order to bump you up the pyramid at the same time contributing to the frenzy…. I LOVE IT!

Anyway, here we are all competing for clicks from BlogRush applications on blogs across the globe.

From this point on, you post’s titles will be the most important 42 characters of your blogging career. That’s right, you have only 42 characters to convince someone reading another blog to check out your post.

21 characters per line…. 2 lines…. that’s it.

Look at the title of this post… it sucks! I don’t think anyone will actually click on it from BlogRush. In fact, I hope they don’t. I’m not here to sell anything, I’m not here to be popular. I have ideas that I would like to share with people would would like to hear them so traffic isn’t a big deal for me. YOU are a big deal for me, my faithful readers….

So here goes…. How to get traffic to your blogs from BlogRush:

You MUST be creative with your titles. You can say anything in your title, it’s all about the lead in. For example:

Think, news headlines. You have to grab the readers attention quickly. However, that is where the fun begins. Just because I come to your blog to read a post, doesn’t mean I’ll come back.

When it comes to blogging, unique visitors are nice but repeat visitors are GREAT!

So now as promised I must destroy your computer. Please back away from the computer, you have 5 seconds….

5…..4…..

3…..

2…..

1……

Crap, I guess it didn’t work. Well maybe your traffic rates will explode if you take my advice. We’ll see….

No-Follow links are for LOSERS!

If you’ve followed along with the Thirty Day Challenge, then you’ve set up Google Alerts to send you the latest news about your niche daily…. actually I set mine up to give me up to the minute updates.I get a tingly feeling inside when Google Alerts sends me a new email. Is it a potential new blog post for my site? Is it a backlink opportunity? Is it an opportunity for more traffic? It’s so exciting…

Yesterday Google Alerts informed me about 3 forum posts that related to my niche. 2 of the forums I participate in on a regular basis… YIPPIE…. more traffic opportunities. Since I’ve already posted my link on these forums, continuing to do so is futile and spammy. The first backlink from a site is powerful, all subsequent backlinks are less useful but it is still an opportunity to establish yourself as an expert in that niche.

What really excited me was the new forum that Google Alerts introduced me to because I need more backlinks. However, when I got to the forum I realized that their links are NO-FOLLOW LINKS!!! Argh!

Oh well, I’ll still participate in the forum because I like their forum and their readers. And instead of following me to my site, I’ll lead them.

Are you wasting your time trying to build backlinks on forums with no-follow links?

Your time is precious so make sure you verify the sites link status. Here’s a neat tool I found that highlights no-follow links.

The Key to Riches Beyond Your Wildest Dreams

Did you know that there are over 22 Millions pages selling Internet Marketing products?People search for the phrase “INTERNET MARKETING” over 3,000 times a day!

If so many people are selling IM products and so many people are searching for tips, tricks and techniques…. who is actually out there doing it?

It seems that everywhere you turn, someone is putting out a new IM product to sell to other internet marketers. Why? Because it is such a HUGE market. Best of all, no experience is required.

Most of these products were produced by people with little or no experience but they studied hard and regurgitated what they learned into their own product. It is the same business model we learned during the Thirty Day Challenge.

Find a niche, make a blog, sell an affiliate product, study the niche, produce an info product sit back and watch your bank account get fat!

So why not produce a IM product? It is a very saturated market but is there still room for development?

As with any market, if you are providing a unique service, idea or product buyers will come. So this is why I’m contemplating producing my on Internet Marketing product.

I have developed 3 unique techniques for generating profits quickly.

My plan is to use my newly formed (joined) team to verify these techniques, possibly add a few more tricks based on other team member’s experience and go LIVE with my first IM product.

However, this will not be some ‘get rich quick’ scheme filled with general information and no details. I will be limiting the number of sales I make each month to under 10, so that for that 30 day period, those 10 people will have direct exclusive access to me and my team to help get their business up and running.

In fact I will be screening orders to make sure that everyone who purchases will succeed. I WILL NOT sell my product to someone who is not committed to making it work. I’m not in this to make a quick buck off my fellow marketers, I’m hear to establish strong business connections with marketers who want to succeed.

Until then, I will continue to provide tips, tricks and tools for success here on my blog.

Do you have a plan for success?

Pyramid Scheme Your Way to Thousands of New Visitors

Quick click on this link and sign-up before it’s too late!

Just like any good pyramid scheme, you have to get in early to make it work!

Actually I don’t want you to click on my link. Do not sign up for BlogRush under me! I’ll explain….

Here’s how it works:

  1. I sign up for BlogRush and post the widget on my blog
  2. Every time someone visits my blog, my latest post appears on a BlogRush widget on someone else’s site
  3. Everyone reading that site sees my post and clicks the link.
  4. My traffic rates skyrockets
  5. You click on my widget to get your blog posts on BlogRush
  6. Every time someone visits YOUR blog, BOTH of our latest posts appears on a BlogRush widget on someone else’s site
  7. The more views WE get the more MY posts appear on BlogRush
  8. You can build your network up to 10 levels deep!

So why don’t I want you to sign-up under me? BlogRush will NOT skyrocket my traffic rates, in fact I doubt I will get more that 10 visitors from BlogRush in the next 30 days.

The only reason I signed-up is for you. Whenever you visit my site, BlogRush will show you some interesting content from other sites. That’s cool! I hope you find some great information this way.

However, if you want traffic from BlogRush, you better get started NOW! And you better have a friend with a popular blog. Think about it, I average 40-60 page views a day. That means BlogRush will display my post (this one actually) on 40-60 times. So 40-60 people who do not read my blog will see the title of this post along with 4 others on a blog they read regularly.

1, maybe 2, more than likely zero of them will actually click the link. If you have an extremely popular blog, then you probably already have BlogRush so you won’t be signing up under me. If you have a less popular monetized blog, you might want to focus on keeping your visitors around so you can make money and not sending them off into cyberspace to find greener pastures.

So for me, BlogRush is for you. Enjoy!

Teams are worthless….

So I’m in the process of forming “The greatest team of Internet Marketers you’ve never heard of” knowing full well that most teams are worthless.

What makes the US Women’s Soccer team so great is that they need each other. They each have a unique set of talents. Unlike the Memphis Grizzlies whose only talent is whining.

In Internet Marketing teams, everyone is so focused on their own personal success that the point of forming the team is lost.

In a recent post on Sean Marler’s blog, he spoke about his mastermind group. What makes his group successful is the fact they all come from different industries, different backgrounds and different perspectives.

The goal of building my team is to pull together marketers with different experiences and different backgrounds. There are 1,000’s of ways to make money on the internet and it is impossible to be an expert in all of them, however a great team will have experts with various specialties.

What are your talents? What are you interested in learning? You don’t have to be an expert but you must be committed to learning. I don’t have time to study every method but together we can master them all.

Think critically~

The Greatest Team You’ve Never Heard Of…..

Have you seen the Nike ads for the US Women’s Soccer team? I love ‘em!They are fun, entertaining and they peaked my interest. What makes them so great?! Well, curiosity got the best of me and Nike is right…. they ARE the Greatest Team You’ve Never Heard Of!

In their 22 games last season, and didn’t lose a single game. They scored 57 points throughout the season while only giving up 10!

The greatest part is that 20 different players each contributed to those wins and there is no superstar. They are truly a TEAM!

During the 30 Day Challenge we were encouraged to form teams. Most teams fizzled out because each team member became so involved in their own projects that there was little time for participating in team activities. Sharing ideas, giving love and general inspirational support was minimal.

So I’m starting a new team…. The Greatest Internet Marketers You’ve Never Heard Of. That’s right, a team of dedicated, highly motivated internet marketers who are focused on success.

This is not a pee-wee football team where everyone gets to play. If you want to join the team you must be able to demonstrate you commitment to the team and it’s success. I will be starting a Facebook group for the team but it will be invite only.

To be considered you must email me at mike_mosby@yahoo.com for more information. You can also PM me on the 30 Day Challenge forum or the Immediate Edge forum.

I know what you are thinking, why do I care about joining this team?

I will be sharing new ideas about successful internet marketing with my team. We will share lesson’s learned and grow our niches together. Right now I have one niche that converts a sale EVERYDAY! I have another niche that generated 80 visitors in its first day online.

I have developed 3 unique marketing strategies that will fit almost any niche! I don’t want to share this information with the world because it will dilute my success however I do want to help those who are committed to making it work.

I’m appalled at some of the 30 Day challenger sites I’ve seen. They took Ed’s valuable advice and produced CRAP! Now we have all suffered thanks to Tumblr gate, the squidoo and hubpages slap. That will NOT happen to my strategies. I just won’t let it!

So if you are committed to success then email me now!

How does a sale every single day sound to you?

Backlink Building

Here’s a quick note:Did you know that links on Myspace pages are counted by both Google and Yahoo? The Myspace pages only have a PR of 2 but think about the ability to generate a large amount of backlinks in a short period of time…..

The aftermath…

So the Thirty Day Challenge is over but the journey still continues.Hopefully like me, you’ve been monitoring your site and tracking your stats.

Hopefully unlike me, you’ve been updating your site regularly. I haven’t added many new posts but I have gotten my ezine article accepted, submitted to a few other article sites, solicited backlinks and analyzed my competition. So I haven’t been TOTALLY lazy.

I really wanted to sit back and evaluate how the site was doing in order to determine if I needed to cut bait and try again.

Let’s look:

50-70 page views a day (with 40-50 of those being unique visitors)
12-15 Clickthrough to my affiliates page
1 in 50 purchase affiliate product

*This data is based on about 10 days of data (would be 20 if it wasn’t for my almost fatal link error)

Those numbers look pretty good to me. With about a months worth of effort I think I can get up to 150-200 unique visitors a day. The question then becomes my clickthrough rate. Atleast 50% of my visitors should be seeing my affiliates page because that is what they came to my site looking for. A solution. Why aren’t they going there?!

Let’s do an experiment. Maybe the TDC Tracker Url “locatereview” is throwing them off. It is a bit awkward considering I don’t talk about reviewing any thing so lets try TinyUrls.

I also switched around some of the posts to help drive traffic to my affiliate.

Now it’s back to tracking. Let’s see how these changes effect the stats. Hopefully there will be an increased click through rate. My goal is to have at least 25 people seeing my affiliate page which should result in a sale every other day. Then I will focus on increasing the number of visitors and my Google rank.

How are your stats?

Think critically~

Happy Labor Day

I hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day.

I’m taking the weekend to reflect on the challenge and develop some new ideas.

I just wanted to share with you a neat article I found on the Time Magazine site… 50 Best Websites of 2007. I recommend you check out all of the websites on the list to see how they could fit into the Thirty Day Challenge marketing techniques.

Enjoy!
